<p><strong>Nikkei Stock</strong> Average 225 up 1.58 pct at 9,741.87.<br />
<strong>Hang Seng Index</strong> up 1.29 pct at 18,123.42.<br />
<strong>KOSPI Index</strong> up 1.72 pct at 1,387.22.<span id="more-1343"></span><br />
<strong>Straits Times Index</strong> up 0.25 pct at 2,284.68.<br />
<strong>Shanghai Composite Index</strong> up 0.22 pct at 2,928.85.</p>
<p><strong>US Markets Ended Mixed</strong><br />
US Markets ended mixed on Wednesday.Dow Jones industrial average down 23.05 points, down 0.28 percent, to 8,299.86. The Standard &amp; Poor&#8217;s 500 index was up 5.84 points, up 0.65 percent, to 900.94. The tech-heavy Nasdaq composite index up 27.42 points,up 1.55 percent, to 1,792.34.</p>

<strong>Nikkei Stock Average 225</strong> was down 0.49 pct down 46.49 points to 8,456.48.<br />
<strong>Hang Seng Index</strong> was down 0.05 pct down 8.87 points to 17381.<br />
Straits Times Index down 1.36% or 30.53 points at 2,207.68.<br />
<strong>Shanghai Composite Index</strong> was up 1.01 pct up 26.58 points to 2,652.23.</p>

<strong>Hang Seng Index</strong> was up 1.56 pct to 15,826.50.<br />
<strong>KOSPI Index</strong> up 0.58 pct at 1,344.50.<br />
<strong>Shanghai Composite Index</strong> was down 1.48 pct to 2,496.64.<span id="more-943"></span><strong>U.S. Markets</strong><br />
On <strong>Wall Street,</strong>Stocks closed higher on Friday encouraged by <strong>JPMorgan&#8217;s </strong>results and tech stocks rallied in anticipation of better results from Google.The <strong>Dow Jones</strong> industrial average gained 95.81, 1.19 percent, to 8,125.43.The Standard &amp; Poor&#8217;s 500 index gained 13.24, 1.55 percent, to 865.30. The Nasdaq composite index was up 43.64, 2.68 percent, to 1,670.44.</p>

Dow Jones ends down 1.7% or 122 points at 7278, NASDAQ down 1.8% or 26.2 points at 1458, S&amp;P 500 down 2% or 15.5 points at 769.<span id="more-404"></span></p>
<blockquote><p>US Future gain on reports that White House is expected to announce bank bailout plan to sop up banks&#8217; toxic assets on Monday. Asian markets open strong ahead of expected Geitherner’s bank rescue plan announcement today. Nikkei, Kospi, Taiwan, Hang Seng up nearly 2%, Straits Times up 1.2%. Shanghai, Kospi, Taiwan, Jakarta markets returns positive YTD.</p></blockquote>
<p>USD had its worst week since 1985 against a basket of currencies; Euro posted one of its best weeks against the US dollar since it was introduced in 1999. YTD performance in Dow Stocks: IBM up 10%, Citigroup down 60%.</p>
<p><strong>Global Movers &amp; Shakers:</strong> TALF Disappointment: Bank of America down 11%, JPMorgan down 7.2%. GM, Ford up 10%; Obama&#8217;s advisor to auto task force said that the gov aid to GM and Chrysler may have to be ramped up.</p>
<p><strong>Global Cues: </strong>Japanese FM said that the economy needs a new stimulus plan worth trillions of yen and that a figure of 20 trillion yen ($ 209 billion) is “not out of line” ((he has already promised a stimulus in April).</p>
<p><strong>Commodities:</strong> Crude up 10% last week; trading above $52/bbl; Gold up 2.7% last week.</p>
<p><strong>Currencies</strong>: Yen depreciates 1.85% against USD at 96.31. Dollar trading flat Vs Euro.</p>
