MFs Stand As Net Buyers In Equities And Debt On February 03

Mutual Funds (MFs) made investments worth Rs 663.40 crore and sold off Rs 525.40 crore worth of equities on February 03, 2011, according to data released by the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI). Thus, MFs stood as net buyers of Rs 138 crore in equities on that day.

In the month of February, MFs have made total investments of Rs 1999 crore and sold off Rs 1618.2001 crore worth of equities, so far.

In the debt segment, MFs made investments of Rs 1964 crore and sold off Rs 1217.80 crore on February 03, as per the details available with SEBI. Thus MFs stood as net buyers of Rs 746.10 crore on that day.

Further, MFs have poured in total Rs 6942.5996 crore and have taken out Rs 3660.5999 crore in debt market for the month of February, so far.

Tara Jewels IPO To Hit The Capital Markets In This Calendar Year

Jewellery exporter Tara Jewels’s initial public offering (IPO) is likely to hit the capital market in this calendar year. The company is looking to raise around Rs 200 crore through this issue.

The company got approval from market regulator Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) for the proposed IPO. The company had filed its draft red herring prospectus with the SEBI for the IPO in September 2010.

The proceeds of the issue will be used for funding its retail business. The company is bullish on retail expansion and is planning to open 20 company-owned showrooms by mid 2011.

Recently, the company had already started its retail business and it is having 31 company-owned stores across 19 cities. Initially, the jewellery exporter will focus on establishing the retail brand in the western and northern regions before moving to the east and south. Tara Jewels primarily exports to Australia, China, Canada, European Union, South Africa, the UAE, the UK and the US. In European Union it exports to 16 countries, including Austria, Germany and Switzerland.

Sel Manufacturing subsidiary SEL textiles files DRHP with SEBI for proposed issue of public issue

SEL Manufacturing Company has informed that SEL Textiles Ltd., a subsidiary of the company proposes a Public Issue of equity shares through 100% book building method in accordance with the Securities and Exchange Board of India (Issue of Capital and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2009 and has filed a Draft Red Herring Prospectus with the Securities and Exchange Board of India.

SEL Textiles proposes to finance the cost of setting up a new facility for manufacturing of Terry Towels with an installed capacity of 3600 TPA out of the net proceeds of the issue.
